Who we are

Pellet is operated by Pellettrack Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). We are the data controller for personal data collected through pellettrack.com and the Pellet mobile application.

This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have over it. It applies to visitors to our website and users of the Pellet app. Please read it before submitting your email address or using the app.

What data we collect and why

Waitlist sign-ups (website)

When you submit your email address via the waitlist form on pellettrack.com, we collect:

We use this solely to notify you when the Pellet app launches and to send you any relevant pre-launch updates you would reasonably expect when joining a product waitlist. The legal basis for this processing is legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — specifically, our interest in communicating a product launch to people who have actively requested to hear about it. You can opt out at any time by emailing hello@pellettrack.com.

App account data

When you use the Pellet app, we collect data you provide or that is generated by your use of the app. This includes:

The legal basis for processing app data is performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) — we need this data to provide the service you have signed up for. For optional fields such as your name and FAC details, the legal basis is consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) — you can leave these blank and the core app will still function.

Anonymous use

The Pellet app can be used without creating an account. In this mode, a random anonymous identifier is assigned to your device session. Your data is stored on-device and in our database linked only to this anonymous ID — not to your name or email address. You can upgrade to a signed-in account at any time, which links your anonymous session data to your email address going forward.

Data we do not collect

We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising. We do not use third-party advertising networks. We do not sell your personal data to anyone, ever.

How long we keep your data

Who we share your data with

We use a small number of third-party services to operate Pellet. Each acts as a data processor under a data processing agreement and may not use your data for any purpose other than providing their service to us.

Processor Purpose Location
Supabase Database, authentication, and file storage for the app EU (Ireland — AWS eu-west-1)
Resend Transactional and waitlist email delivery USA (SCCs in place)
Anthropic AI analysis of target photographs via Claude Vision API USA (SCCs in place)
OpenWeatherMap Fetching weather conditions at your GPS location during sessions EU
Apple / Google App distribution and in-app payment processing (subscriptions) Varies by region

"SCCs" means Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission — the mechanism that makes transfers of personal data to non-EEA countries lawful under GDPR.

We do not share your data with any other third parties, including data brokers, advertisers, or analytics platforms.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR you have the following rights regarding your personal data. To exercise any of them, email hello@pellettrack.com. We will respond within one month.

Access Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Rectification Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Erasure Ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
Restriction Ask us to pause processing your data in certain circumstances.
Portability Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Objection Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Withdraw consent Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.
Complain Lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (see below).

UK residents may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or call 0303 123 1113.

German residents may complain to their state data protection authority (Landesdatenschutzbehörde). A list of German supervisory authorities is available at bfdi.bund.de.

Automated decision-making

We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you. The AI analysis within the app (target measurement, pellet identification) produces performance data for your own use — it does not make decisions about you.

Children

Pellet is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with their data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify signed-in users by email. Continued use of the app or website after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
